The Children's Museum Schönbrunn Palace is situated on the ground floor of the palace (west wing). The museum is not just for children but for families and all those who want to learn more about the everyday life of the imperial family.

A time wheel helps you to see the difference between imperial children and children from ordinary homes. You can play with toys from the past, learn the secret language of fans, and set the imperial dining table! If you take part in a themed tour you’ll learn lots of interesting and amusing things about the past: What kind of food did they eat in imperial times? How long has Schönbrunn Palace been there, and was it always as big as it is today? And then afterwards you can dress up as a prince or princess.

In the Children’s Museum at Schönbrunn Palace there are loads of things to discover about the everyday life of the imperial children:

• How did they dress?
• How was the imperial dining table set?
• What did they do about personal hygiene?

This ticket has FIXED ADMISSION TIMES. There may be waiting times during busy periods, so be sure to secure your desired time slot in advance by purchasing an online ticket.

In the case of SCHOOL GROUPS (10 pupils and above) a signed document of confirmation bearing the stamp of the school must be presented (DOWNLOAD FORM).

The ideal ticket for a family day trip, with at least 20% off the usual price in comparison with single tickets!

Children’s Museum Schönbrunn Palace
In the Children’s Museum Schönbrunn Palace you can learn all sorts of fascinating things about the everyday life of the imperial children. How did they dress? What about personal hygiene? Besides which, you can learn the language of fans. And of course there’s all the fun of dressing up.

Irrgarten & Labyrinth & Labyrinthikon Playground
The Maze was planned after a historical model on a total area of 1,715 m². In its centre is an observation platform and two strength-giving harmony stones. The Labyrinth, restored according to historical plans, is an irresistible invitation to explore. It has entertaining games for visitors big and small to try out on a total space of 2,700 m². The Labyrinthikon was designed by the playground expert Günter Beltzig and is a playground for experimenting and high jinks appealing to all generations – whether children or the young at heart.

Children aged under 14 wishing to visit the Maze & Labyrinth must be accompanied by an adult.

Children aged 3 to 5 only need a ticket for the Children’s Museum Schönbrunn Palace.

Valid during the summer season from 1 April to 2 November 2025. Valid for admission to Schönbrunn Palace Children’s Museum on the day selected at the time selected; single admission to the other included attractions to the end of the season (2 November 2025)
