Here you’ll find all the information you need to plan your barrier-free visit to Schönbrunn Palace!

PARKING

There are 3 parking spaces for persons with special needs in the forecourt by the main gate.

WHEELCHAIRS / SEATING

Wheelchairs can be hired free of charge upon deposit of ID at the turnstile. Limited seating is available in the state rooms. Wheelchairs for outside use (park) are available free of charge on depositing an ID card or identification at the main gate.

TOILETS

Barrier-free toilets can be found by the ticket desk, in the Children's Museum and on the first floor (only accessible with the assistance of palace staff).

ASSISTANCE DOGS

Assistance Dogs are admitted.

ACCOMPANYING PERSON

Admission is free for a person accompanying a blind/vision-impaired visitor or a wheelchair user, provided that a companion person is included in the disabled visitor’s ID.

All display areas enjoy barrier-free accessibility via ramps or lift.

GUIDED TOURS

We offer dedicated guided tours of Schönbrunn Palace for blind and sight-impaired visitors upon request. These tours give visitors access behind the cordons and allow them to feel particular objects, including doors, ceramic stoves, furniture, interior surface decoration, curtains, busts and floors.

Guide dogs are permitted and accompanying persons receive free admission.

MUSEUM SIGN LANGUAGE GUIDE

Our video guides in Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS) and International Sign (IS) are available for deaf and hearing-impaired visitors.

ADMISSION CHARGES

Reduced admission for persons with special needs upon production of ID.
